is a score for shared visual space where language provokes images within the gathered mind of the audience. The piece queries how thoughts operate, feel, and move. people performing words originates out of Cohen's interest in and use of text within his object-oriented practice and connects with Dan Levenson's work in the imagined context surrounding his installation. Performed by Christen Celaya, Lea Madda, Andres Paul Ramacho, and Maia Rychlik

Five artists create new work centering on painter Dan Levenson's installation “SKZ Monochrome Diptychs.” Commissioned by American Jewish University as part of Launch Sites L.A.: Ezra Orion Revisited, Levenson has built a suite of modular plywood desks, chairs, benches and easels to represent a classroom at his fictional State Art Academy Zurich. In it students make monochrome paintings. They then pair up to make hinged diptychs. The setting is the Sidney Eisenshtat’s House of the Book: an icon of 1970s Southern California brutalist architecture.

Artists include Barnett Cohen, Carver Audain, Jmy James Kidd, Odeya Nini, and Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs.
